True and Godly Correction (Proverbs 13:18)

To understand the true meaning of correction is important as well as how to use the tools of correction correctly.

"Poverty and shame shall be to him who refuses instruction and correction, but he who heeds reproof shall be honored." Proverbs 13:18, Amplified

There is something about correction that the human heart or psyche cannot receive. Maybe it is the whole thing of being told that we are wrong.
If we do not receive that correction, however, then we are doomed to failure. Maybe not this time, or even the next. Failure will be on the horizon.
It is our job, though, to understand the correction that is coming our way. There are those authority figures in our lives that abuse their roles and tend to over correct and misdirect. True and godly correction is done out of love for the individual. True and godly correction wants us to succeed.
